Indians have traditionally believed that the only worthwhile jobs that are available are in Engineering, Medicine, Accounting, Government, Banking and the Civil Services. Most Indian parents are averse to their children focusing on careers which do not fall into one of the above six categories. This is primarily because they are unaware of what is available along with social pressures to follow traditional careers like the ones above.
