Sultan Speak - Transcending boundaries

“Learn from Mentors, connect with peers, share your experience and learn good practices too.”

Originally when the idea of ‘Mentor’ evolved in our minds in the year 2006 it was conceptualised as an online platform that would bring together the ‘good practices’ of educators and educational institutions for the benefit of education at large.

But we realised at that time that not more than 10% of the educators accessed the internet on a regular basis, so it was launched as a print magazine. Today 3 years down the line ‘Mentor’ has carved a niche for itself in the Indian Edu-topia as an unbiased quality publication striving to make a difference to the lives of Principals and educators and reaches over to 10,000 schools across India.

In the recent past, things have changed dramatically and with the advent of social media networks almost everyone including teachers and educators are hooked on to facebook or orkut or linkedin. The online medium gives users the opportunity to transcend boundaries and connect with people who they would never be able to in the past. The power of social networking is slowly engulfing the planet and education is no exception.

The time is now right for Mentor to move on to the next level. It gives me great pleasure to introduce you to MENTORS CONNECT an online platform that empowers educators to Connect, Share, Learn and Grow – Personally, Professionally and Socially. Mentors Connect bridges the gap between educators, educational experts and organisations, to facilitate a positive change in the educational arena.

Visit www.mentorsconnect.in and register today.

I would like to take the opportunity to invite you and your fellow educators and teachers to register on Mentors Connect today. This platform gives you the freedom to:

- Connect: with like-minded educators from across the country and abroad. You can now choose a Mentor to learn from or select a Peer to associate with using this platform.

- Share: your learning, experiences, lesson plans, views through presentations, videos, documents and much more.

- Learn: from relevant articles posted by educators to support you in your personal, professional, social lives and to get a better understanding of the children you work with.

- Grow: learning from Mentors ,connecting with Peers, sharing your experiences and learning good practices from others, all contributing to the overall growth of the ‘Individual’ within us thereby improving the ‘Quality’ of education in our society.

The ultimate objective of Mentors Connect is to elevate the overall perception and image of the ‘Teacher’ in our society and to positively reinforce the fact that ‘Better Teachers make the world a Better Place’.
